About MIG Airlines

Building the Future of Aviation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

MIG Airlines is a Congolese aviation platform in development — designed to reconnect the DRC, serve Central Africa, and stand alongside the world's leading carriers.

Executive Summary

MIG Airlines is a Congolese aviation platform in development — combining live pre-launch commercial services today with a disciplined, phased plan to become a full-scale national airline. This page introduces our story, values, milestones and ambitions, and how we are building an institutional-grade aviation platform for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Company Introduction

A Congolese aviation platform, built for the long term.

MIG Airlines is a private-sector aviation initiative developed under the Mbombo Investment Group, headquartered in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, with head office at 343 Preston Street, 11th Floor, Room 1156, Ottawa, ON K1S 1N4, Canada. The company is in development and is preparing for scheduled commercial operations subject to certification, financing and regulatory approvals.

We were founded on a simple observation: the DRC — with over 100 million people, extraordinary geography, and one of Africa's most strategic locations — deserves a modern, safety-first national aviation platform. MIG Airlines is being built to serve that need with the discipline, transparency and long-term horizon of an institutional-grade operator.

Our Purpose

To build a modern, Congolese-owned aviation platform that connects the DRC to Africa and the world — safely, reliably, and sustainably — while generating long-term value for shareholders, employees, partners and the communities we serve.

Leadership Philosophy

Institutional governance, disciplined capital allocation, safety and compliance above all, and unwavering long-term commitment to Congolese aviation.

Our Values

Six commitments that shape every decision

From safety to governance, our values define how we build, hire, invest and operate.

Safety First

Uncompromising commitment to international safety standards, SMS, and independent oversight.

Reliability

Operational discipline, on-time performance, and predictable service our customers can plan around.

Accessibility

Aviation that connects Congolese cities and communities — not just capitals and hubs.

Innovation

Digital-native distribution, modern fleet, and technology that raises the bar for African aviation.

Long-Term Impact

Talent development, local supply chain participation and infrastructure that outlasts any single project.

Institutional Governance

Transparency, disciplined capital allocation, and reporting that meets international investor expectations.

Why the DRC needs a modern aviation ecosystem

A country built for aviation

A modern aviation platform is not a luxury for the DRC — it is foundational infrastructure for the country's next chapter.

Reconnect the country

The DRC — Africa's second-largest country by area — depends on aviation to link cities separated by rainforest, rivers and limited roads.

Enable trade & industry

Mining, agriculture, healthcare and manufacturing all need reliable air links to move goods, people and expertise.

Support humanitarian missions

UN agencies, NGOs and health responders need dependable aviation partners in one of the world's most operationally complex geographies.

Grow tourism

Congolese natural and cultural heritage — from Virunga to the Congo River — is world-class and under-served by air access.

Serve business travel

Regional and international business travellers require modern, safe, digitally distributed connectivity into and out of the DRC.

Contribute to development

A modern national aviation platform strengthens sovereignty, employment, skills development and regional integration.

Why MIG Airlines

Eight reasons this platform matters

An investment thesis grounded in geography, demography, and disciplined execution.

Strategic Central African location

The DRC borders nine countries and sits at the crossroads of Africa's east, west and south.

Large underserved domestic market

Over 100 million people across the second-largest country in Africa — with limited domestic connectivity today.

Growing cargo demand

E-commerce, healthcare, humanitarian and industrial freight all need reliable air lift.

Mining & natural resources logistics

Copper, cobalt and critical-minerals corridors demand specialized aviation logistics.

AfCFTA regional trade tailwind

The African Continental Free Trade Area unlocks cross-border commerce that aviation can capture.

Government & PPP opportunities

Public-sector aviation, humanitarian and infrastructure programs open partnership pathways.

Scalable business model

Asset-light launch scaling into a full-service airline as capital, fleet and approvals mature.

Revenue before commercial flights

Seven live pre-launch commercial lines already generating cash flow today.
